International visitors

Sunderland CAT has played host to a visit from the Riyadh college of Telecoms and Information, Saudi Arabia this month.

We have been fortunate enough to participate in an “Twinning Programme” organised by the British Council, designed to encourage partnerships with similar overseas academies. This is just one of a number of relationships we have been fostering with institutions in the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.

The visit is just part of a very successful programme of events, which has allowed both lecturers and students to share knowledge and cultural experiences from their respective countries, as well as gaining further understanding of IT practices.

On this occasion we welcomed five esteemed academics from Riyadh College of Telecoms and Information including the Head of ICT and the Director or Quality Assurance. The visit was a opportunity for our guests to learn and share with our College, looking at the processes and strategies that we employ here to hopefully take back and implement in their environment.

A team of Sunderland CAT representatives will be partaking in a return visit that will help to futher develop this programme of collaboration with the Riyadh College of Telecoms and Information.

The programme has cemented a strong working relationship between the two institutions and we are all looking to a long and prosperous future together.
